The existing building sits right across the masterpiece of medieval age India, Qutub Minar, also a UNESCO world heritage site.. The existing building’s misplaced façade vocabulary required a major revival to reflect the locational context and add curb appeal. To house fashion boutiques within, required a glamorous fabrication which was used as a parallel aesthetic between fashion and architecture. The new design concept reflected the ‘Zeitgeist’ theory implying “spirit of old times “. Here the dominating elements like arches, and materials like natural stone added a dynamic form to the planar facade thus giving a rebirth to age old elements. Accentuating the arches in gold trim and marrying them with travertine and stone exhibited a subtle yet voguish design. The grand windows give an insight into the whimsical world of fashion.
