𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 received its first commission soon after its formation in the year 2004 from @mayocollegeofficial 𝗔𝗷𝗺𝗲𝗿, one of India's oldest and popular boarding schools.The first project was 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 reuse of a heritage building, 𝗔𝗷𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, a boarding house of the school. The successful completion of the project led to a long-term association with the school for another 8 years. Integrating nature into our indoor spaces can improve our health and wellbeing. 𝗔 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁

𝗔 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻 & 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆!Typical school designs often have long corridors with classrooms on either side. These double-loaded corridors are devoid of natural light and become dark-dingy and counterproductive to the 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 of the children.Atrium’s can be a good substitute to allow natural light into the corridors and make them fun and lively. On similar lines, 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 used this strategy to design a school building with the entire building block was split down the middle to create a three-storey atrium space.
